3columns is a WordPress classic theme for text-first publishing.

Install

Upload the theme ZIP through Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme, then activate it for the site.

Set up the site

  1. Set the site title and tagline.
  2. Create a static Home page if the publication needs a curated index.
  3. Create a primary menu with the main archive sections.
  4. Use the left, right, and footer widget areas for navigation and context.
  5. Organize posts with categories such as Essays, Reviews, Series, Notes, and Publications.

Writing model

Use posts for the living archive and pages for stable reference material. Keep titles specific, excerpts useful, and categories meaningful.
