A classic theme keeps the content portable

A Classic Theme is a presentation layer over WordPress-managed content. That distinction is more important than the shape of a toolbar.

Osbirds uses the Template Hierarchy instead of replacing it. It registers menus instead of hiding navigation in PHP. It registers Widget Areas instead of hard-coding every contextual panel. It uses the Customizer for bounded appearance choices and leaves editorial decisions in Posts, Pages, Categories, Comments, and Media.

The result is an interface that can be changed, audited, and rolled back without turning a theme update into a content migration.

Widgets are the inspector

The right side of a desktop interface is useful when it answers a real question. What is recent? Which topic is active? Where should I continue reading?

In Osbirds, that context belongs in Widgets. The Inspector can use Recent Posts, Categories, Tag Cloud, Search, Text, or compatible block Widgets. The theme supplies a quiet fallback when the area is empty, but the site owner remains able to replace it from the normal Widgets screen.

This is the classic WordPress promise expressed through a modern surface: the design is opinionated, while the content containers remain familiar.
