The feed is convenient, but convenience is not the same as orientation.
A chronological list tells us what happened recently. It does not necessarily tell us what belongs together, what deserves a slower reading, or where a long-running series begins.
A publication can keep its feed while giving the archive other entrances. Categories, series pages, and a considered index are not alternatives to the feed; they are the memory around it.
